1. To fully understand and implement the policies and regulations of higher authorities and the University concerning international cooperation and exchange, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan affairs.

2. To be responsible for the application, implementation and management of cooperative projects between the University and overseas institutions ans those in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

3. To undertake the work of inviting foreign academic groups and experts to visit and give lectures at the University, and to handle the approval procedures for international academic conferences hosted or organized by the University.

4. To be responsible for the approval, procedure processing and organization of University-sponsored visits outside the Chinese mainland for further study, inspection, visiting, participation in international conferences and scientific research. This also includes the approval procedures and organization of University delegations' visits outside the Chinese mainland, as well as pre-departure orientation and policy briefing for relevant personnel.

5. To be responsible for the recruitment, approval, document processing and daily management of foreign teachers and experts at the University.

6. To be responsible for organizing the selection and approval of state-sponsored overseas students, their participation in foreign language proficiency tests, and the completion of application materials for going abroad.

7. To be responsible for the recruitment promotion, admission and approval of international students.

8. To assist and guide the international cooperation and exchange, and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan affairs of the University's three affiliated hospitals.
