On August 20, the 16th World Congress of Neurosurgery (WFNS) was grandly held in Istanbul, Turkey. Professor Jiang Yong, Vice Director of the Affiliated Hospital, and neurosurgeons Peng Jianhua and Pang Jinwei attended the congress and delivered academic presentations at the invitation of the organizing committee.
The WFNS is the highest-level academic organization in the field. At the congress, At the congress, Professor Jiang Yong delivered a presentation titled "Apolipoprotein E ε4: A Possible Risk Factor of Intracranial Pressure and White Matter Perfusion in Good-Grade Aneurysmal Subarachnoid Hemorrhage Patients at an Early Stage.", which was the first to identify it as an independent risk factor for specific hemorrhage patients, drawing significant expert interest.

Professor Jiang has led over 10 research projects, including three funded by the National Natural Science Foundation. His team focuses on craniocerebral trauma and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, publishing 5 SCI papers in top journals in the first half of 2017 alone.
Professor Jiang Yong's presentation at the WFNS Congress not only marks international and domestic recognition of his team's research, but also serves as strong evidence of the Affiliated Hospital's growing research strength in neurosurgery in recent years. Under the leadership of Director Chen Ligang, the Department of Neurosurgery of the Affiliated Hospital has formed three distinctive research directions: craniocerebral trauma, glioma, and cerebrovascular diseases. The department has undertaken numerous national and provincial-level research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National "Twelfth Five-Year" Key Research Program. It has published over 100 SCI and Chinese core journal papers, served as chief editors for four national higher education textbooks, and received multiple awards, including the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of Sichuan Province, the Third Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award, and the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of Luzhou City.
