To strengthen educational exchanges and pragmatic cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries, a delegation from the university led by He Tao, Vice‑Secretary of the University Party Committee and President of the University, joined the Chinese University Delegation on its official visit to Slovakia and Slovenia from June 1 to 6. Entrusted by the Ministry of Education, this mission was organized by the China Education Association for International Exchange, comprising 17 representatives from 9 domestic higher‑education institutions. As a member of the China‑CEEC Universities Union, the university was invited to join the visit.

During its stay in Slovakia, He Tao and the delegation attended the China‑Slovakia Higher‑Education Dialogue held at the former building of the Slovak Parliament. Róbert Zsembera, State Secretary of Slovakia, attended and extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He noted that China‑Slovakia higher‑education cooperation constituted an important component of educational and economic and trade cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries. The Slovak side hoped to seize this opportunity to deepen cooperation and expected universities from both sides to jointly provide educational impetus for the development of bilateral relations. At the dialogue, He Tao delivered a keynote address in English, giving an overview of China’s higher education. He also introduced the university and put forward proposed cooperation areas with Slovak higher‑education institutions.

The delegation visited the Slovak University of Technology to learn about its talent training and scientific research programs including medical imaging. The delegation also paid a courtesy call on the Chinese Embassy in Slovakia, where Ambassador Cai Ge received the delegation.
While in Slovenia, the delegation participated in the China‑Slovenia University Presidents’ Dialogue. He Tao briefed attendees on the university and put forward cooperation proposals tailored to participating Slovenian universities. Members of the delegation also chaired thematic seminar sessions within the framework of the dialogue.
Subsequently, the delegation visited the University of Primorska. Professor Klavdija Kutnar, Rector of the university, introduced its history, talent cultivation and scientific research, followed by presentations delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and other faculty representatives. He Tao held discussions on potential cooperation in preventive medicine, nursing and related disciplines.
The delegation then visited the University of Ljubljana. Professor Gregor Majdič, Rector of the university, welcomed the guests and introduced the university’s history, general profile and flagship disciplines. Deans from the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Health Sciences joined the discussion. He Tao exchanged views on joint talent‑training programs with Professor Janez Vogrinc, Vice‑Rector, and Professor Jana Brguljan Hitij, Vice‑Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and identified potential areas for follow‑up cooperation. The delegation also paid a courtesy call on the Chinese Embassy in Slovenia, where Ambassador Kang Yan received the delegation.
This overseas trip enabled the university to secure multiple letters of intent for cooperation with the Slovak University of Technology, Comenius University, the University of Primorska, the University of Maribor and the University of Ljubljana. Building on this visit, the university will further deepen educational cooperation with Central and Eastern European countries and pursue substantive and in‑depth international educational exchanges.
