2026 SWMU Admission to the
Master's Degree Programs
General information
- Duration: 3 years.
- Language of instruction: English.

Below are the Master's degree programs offered for the 2026 intake,along with the corresponding faculty supervisors.
Fees (in RMB)
- Registration Fee: 800 RMB for the first year; 240 RMB per year for the second and third years.
- Annual Tuition: 25,000 RMB/year.
- Hostel Fee: 8,000 RMB/room/year (shared by two students).
*Note: Other fees (visa, insurance, textbooks, miscellaneous charges, etc.) will be charged at actual cost.
Prerequisites
- Age: 18–35 years old.
- Educational background:
- Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree.
- Academic performance and language proficiency must meet the admission requirements of the intended program.
- Language requirements: applicants must have proficient English language skills.
- Applicants for Master's degree programs must pass the qualification assessment organized by SWMU.
- Applicants are required to purchase medical insurance throughout their studies at our university.
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health. For applicants who were formerly Chinese citizens and have acquired foreign citizenship, the provisions of the Notice of the Ministry of Education on Regulating the Admission of International Students by Chinese Higher Education Institutions (JWH [2020] No. 12) shall apply.
Application Materials
- SWMU Application Form for International Students (downloadable from the website).
- SWMU Student Family Information Form (downloadable from the website).
- SWMU Student Personal Information Form for Postgraduate Programs (downloadable from the website).
- Copy of valid passport (with at least 1 year of validity remaining upon application).
- Copies of Bachelor's degree certificate, graduation certificate, official academic transcripts, and notarized translations/copies (if the original documents were issued outside the Chinese mainland).
- Certificate of No Criminal Record issued by the local public security bureau, with notarization by the local Chinese embassy/consulate (if issued outside the Chinese mainland).
- Physical Examination Report (must be an original document bearing the official seal of a recognized government hospital).
- Electronic ID photos meeting the following requirements:
- 2-inch, white background, with a minimum resolution of 320 × 240 pixels;
- aspect ratio of 3:4;
- file size between 100–200 KB in JPG format;
- each photo should be named with the applicant's passport number.
Application Procedure
- Application Period: September – October, 2026.
*Note: The application period may be extended based on actual enrollment conditions.
- The university will review all application materials. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an online interview conducted by the prospective supervisor(s). Successful applicants will receive the admission offer.
- The Confirmation Letter and the Visa Application Form for International Students (Form JW202) will be sent to admitted students, who may then apply for an X visa at the Chinese embassy or consulate in their home country.
- Upon arrival on campus, students will be required to take a qualifying examination organized by their respective schools. Those who fail the examination will not be eligible for enrollment registration and their admission offers will be revoked.
Scholarship
A full tuition scholarship is available for admitted international
- A full tuition scholarship is available for admitted international Master's students.
- Amount: 25,000 RMB/year.
- The scholarship will be disbursed after the student has completed enrollment registration and paid the required tuition fees in full.

a) Email soft copies of all required documents to iceo@swmu.edu.cn. Please ensure that the Application Form for International Students, the SWMU Student Personal Information Form for Postgraduate Programs, and the SWMU Student Family Information Form are completed truthfully.
b) Submit hard copies of all required documents in person or by post to: Office #301, Decheng Building, No.1 Section 1 Xianglin Rd, Longmatan District, Luzhou, Sichuan, P.R.China 646000.
